Jormungandr Serpent Valknut Necklace
This weighty large pendant features The Valknut symbol surrounded by Jormungand.
Jormungand (pronounced “YOUR-mun-gand;” Old Norse Jörmungandr, “Great Beast”), also called the "Midgard Serpent,” is a snake or dragon who lives in the ocean that surrounds Midgard, the visible world. So enormous is he that his body forms a circle around the entirety of Midgard. He’s one of the three children of Loki and the giantess Angrboða, along with Hel and Fenrir.
The Valknut is a mysterious symbol consisting of three interlocked triangles and is thought to be strongly tied to Odin. The name comes from Old Norse for "Knot" and "Slain Warrior", loosely meaning the "knot of those fallen in battle". It is thought that the Valknut was displayed at the burial sights of those who died in battle as a sign that they were to be taken to Valhalla.
