Jotunheim & Utgard: The Realms of Giants

One of the nine world, the territory of Giants, cold and stone.

Located on the same level as Midgard, in the middle of the Universe,
Jotunheim is separated from Asgard by the river Iving which never freezes.

This territory extends from the snowy regions to the ocean shore.

What lives in Jotunheim?

It is governed by Thrym (The-Tumult), the terrifying King of the Cold Giants.

The stronghold of Utgard is the capital of Jotunheim and the home of its sovereign, the Utgard Giant (Loki).

The other citadels are Gastropnir, home of the Menglad Giant; Tryheim, the home of the Menglad Giant; and the
"Demeure-du-Tumulte"; and the mountainous city of the Giant Thiazi (or Thiassi).

Jotunheim is an inhospitable place near the North Pole and this desert of ice is
continuously swept by fogs, blizzards and roaring winds
sent by the giants to burn the spring buds.

Bergelmir and his wife.When calm returned, they became the sires of a new and younger breed of giants.

The latter would have for mission to avenge Ymir in Ragnarok helped by the corpses of Hel.

To note that they created the kingdom of Jotunheim.

Myrkvid: (Shadow Forest) A forest that separates the world of Asgard from that of Jotunheim.

Grjottungard: The place where Thor and Hrungnir fight on the border of the world of the

Gods and the world of Giants, Asgard and Jotuheim. (Certainly on or near the Bifrost Bridge).
